Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism is one of the area's largest providers of youth enrichment year round!

In the Summer
Looking for summer fun? We offer over 200 weeks of summer camps for ages 3 to 17. Choose from half-day, full-day and overnight programs with themes such as art, music, dance, travel, athletics, swimming, pop culture and outdoor education. You DON'T have to be a County resident to sign up!

During the School Year
While school is in session, we operate an after school program on-site at 13 Roanoke County elementary schools. After School for Kids is an enrichment program for grades K-5 offering daily age-appropriate activities that foster physical, social emotional and cognitive development. At Green Ridge Recreation Center, our Ridge Kids after school program is open to grades K-5, with transportation from Glen Cove and Fort Lewis elementary schools.

  2. Gentle, Flowing Restorative Yoga (Ages 18+)

    Are you interested in learning about Yoga but don’t know where to begin? This class combines a variety of forms including Osteo, Restorative, and Hatha Yoga to allow your body to stretch with a flowing movement and ease. This is an excellent class for those starting out in Yoga or for those who enjoy a slower, gentler, stretch. Ten week program. Instructor: Trudi Mardian.

  2. Kinder Tots (Ages 2)

    Two year old children are engaged in a dance and movement program developmentally designed. During class they enjoy movement creativity, dance exploration, physical development and body awareness while learning numbers, colors, shapes and songs.   2. Practical Yoga for Men (Ages 18+)

    Compliment your current workout or sport with this specially designed yoga class for men. Poses will focus on muscles to increase mobility in the hamstrings, shoulders, hips, lower back and more. Feel energized, stretched and toned after this 45 minute practice. This is a class for all skill levels, beginners welcome. Six week course. Instructor: Abby Reed.

  2. Cake & Canvas (Ages 16+)

    Embrace your creativity while your taste buds embrace a sweet treat from one of our local cupcake shops. Invite a friend or make it a date night. No experience necessary for this paint night. Instructor Katie Reed will guide you step by step from a blank canvas to a finished masterpiece. All materials included. Please register by: Aug. 25th.
