    Originally developed as a Martial Art for self defense, T'ai Chi is a non-competitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and dynamic stretching. It is sometimes described as 'Meditation in Motion' because it promotes serenity through gentle movements; connecting the mind, body and spirit through a sequence of blissful postures. The class consists of slow intentional movements, incorporating breathing and mindful imagery. Its goals are to relax, strengthen, connect the physical body and mind, enhance the natural flow of Chi (life force), and improve one's health. The Mayo Clinic has reported that the practice of T'ai Chi may reduce anxiety and depression, improve balance, flexibility and muscle strength as well as improve sleep quality. Six week program.

    Ride to the rhythm of the music for a healthier body, mind and spirit! Come to class tired and leave energized! You will be riding to Rock n Roll, Blues, Pop and Contemporary music, for the best cardio workout you can achieve! Your instructor is fun, energetic and ready to help guide you to your next fitness level. All fitness levels are welcome; beginners are encouraged to start here. Experienced cyclist are encouraged to come inside out of the elements for a premium cardio workout. Rhythm Riders will be training with intervals, hill rides, mountain climbs, flat sprints, attack sprints, and other challenging exercises.     Want a new way to have fun and exercise? Swing Roanoke will be teaching classes to keep your feet moving all winter long!   31. Ellis Lifeguard Training (Ages 15+)

    Be a part of the aquatics team! This is an intensive lifeguard training course that teaches high protection standards to enable you to prevent guests from catastrophic injury or drowning. This program gives lifeguards the skills and technical knowledge to become an effective member of an aquatics emergency response team. Upon completion of course participants are eligible for employment at the Green Ridge indoor pool and Splash Valley during the summer. Must be 16 to be considered for employment. Pre-registration is required. Prerequisite: Must be 15 years old to enroll and be able to swim 100 yds, retrieve a brick from a depth of 8 ft. and tread water for one minute. Classes will be Wed- Fri 5:00pm-9:00pm, Sat & Sun. 8:00am-2:00pm.

  32. Horsemanship Spring Break (Ages 10+)

    Whether you are a tenderfoot or old cowhand, this three day program is a perfect opportunity to learn and experience real horsemanship. Participants will be mentored by leading equine experts in working with a large herd (including multiple breeds), feeding, grooming, tacking, and of course LOTS of riding. Transportation, meals, snacks, and all riding equipment provided. Please bring a water bottle. Must wear pants and closed-toe shoes to ride. Instruction provided by Reba Farm. Drop-off is from 7:45-8:00 AM and pick-up is from 6:00-6:15 PM at the Green Ridge.
