Choose from cabins, yurts and RV sites operated at Explore Park by Don's Cab-Inns Campground!

The Blue Ridge Parkway is OPEN and Explore Park can be accessed on the Parkway at Milepost 121 from US Route 220 headed North, at Milepost 112 from VA 24 headed South, Mill Mountain Parkway at Milepost 120, or our alternate entrance at 3900 Rutrough Road, 24014. Click here for Blue Ridge Parkway Road and Facility closure status.

Don's Cab-Inns Campground at Explore Park

Stay overnight in a hand-crafted cabin, spacious yurt or RV space, all within close proximity to a bathhouse. On season rates apply April through November, and off season is December through March.

When you book your stay at Don's Cab-Inns, don't forget about convenient extras that are delivered to your campsite before your stay. Some extras include: Firewood, Linens, Bath-sets, Coffee, Charcoal and more! These can be purchased when booking your campsite using the online registration portal.

Pod Cabins: These unique structures pack lots of amenities into a small space. Most contain a queen size bed with mattress (ground level) and full size loft bunk with mattress (requires climbing a ladder). Cabin D9 & D13 are bunk style units which sleep up to 6. Cabin D8 is our couples cabin with electric fireplace, futon and breakfast nook. All units contain heating and air conditioning, plus a refrigerator, microwave and pod coffee maker (no coffee pods provided but you can purchase these as extras). Linens are also not included, but may be rented for an extra fee. Outdoor features include a picnic table and fire ring with cooking grill topper at each site. 

Units D11, D13, D15 & D9B are pet friendly for a service fee of $10 per night (maximum two pets); other units do not allow pets. Please select "pet fee" during checkout process.

Want a unique experience? Pod Cabin D9B uses no electricity making it an eco-friendly choice for your next camping adventure! $55/night on season and off season.

Rates: Standard cabins are $85/night on season or $65/night off season (plus tax). Premium cabins (bunkhouse/couples) are $95/night on season or $75/night off season (plus tax). Two-night minimum stay applies to Friday & Saturday nights.

Yurts: Sleep up to six or eight guests in a 16 foot or 20 foot round yurt. Units are air-conditioned and have a half-bath (except when winterized December - March). Yurt amenities include air conditioning, plus a refrigerator, microwave and pod coffee maker (no coffee pods provided but you can purchase these as extras). Linens are also not included, but may be rented for an extra fee. Outdoor features include a picnic table and fire ring with cooking grill topper at each site.

Units D18, D19 & D21 contain a three-level double bunk bed that sleeps six. D14 contains one queen size bed. D16 has a three-level double bunk bed that sleeps six and a futon that sleeps two.

Units D18 and D21 are pet friendly for a service fee of $10 per night (maximum two pets); Other units do not allow pets.

Rates:  $105/night on season or $85/night off season (plus tax). Yurt D16 rents for $130/night on season and $105/night off season (plus tax). Two-night minimum stay applies on Friday & Saturday nights. 

RV-NewButton

RV Sites: Park in a pristine site served by a nearby bathhouse. Sites are 12’ by 35’ and have 30 amp electrical service. No water or sewer hookup is available, but there are municipal water spigots near each site. A dump station is available, free for overnight guests ($15 for non-guests). Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with cooking grill topper.

Rates: $35/night (plus tax). Two-night minimum stay applies on Friday & Saturday nights.
