Kite Festival Vendor Information

Now accepting vendor applications for the 23rd annual Kite Festival!  With over 9000+ attendees in 2023, this is a great way to showcase your hand crafted or locally sourced products in Roanoke County! 

Application deadline: February 29

Vendors will be notified of their acceptance by March 1.

The Kite Festival is a RAIN or SHINE event. No refunds of the vendor fee will be issued.

  • $150 Vendor fee
  • Event time: 10am - 3pm
  • No electricity is provided.
  • Vendors are responsible for all trash generated from their spaces.
  • Standard vendor spaces are 10'x10'. Food vendors needing more space, please indicate on your application.
  • Any craft items must be handmade by participating individual. All products sold must be appropriately themed merchandise for a Kite Festival.

  3. Thank you for your interest in participating as a vendor in Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism's Kite Festival. Please complete and submit the form below to apply as a vendor for the 23rd Annual Kite Festival. 

    If you are approved, you will be contacted via email regarding the schedule and payment process. 

    FOOD VENDORS: Once your application, COI, and Health Dept. Inspection form are received, we will process your application for approval. 

    Event date: April 20, 2024

    Event time: 10am - 3pm

  5. *If electricity is needed, you will be required to bring your own generator*
  6. Standard vendors: A 10x10 area will be included. If utilizing more space, you will be charged more based on your needs.

    Food Vendors: Please let us know what space you need for your entire set up, minus any vehicles used for transport or restocking.

  7. The Kite Festival is a Rain or Shine Event

    Proof of Insurance Coverage & Health Dept certificate will need to be submitted along with application form.

  8. Important Information:

    Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism will not be held responsible for any damage or loss. Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism has the right to use images of any artwork submitted for display to help promote the event. 

    Artist accreditation will be given when possible, but Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism is not responsible for omissions in any publication.

    Food vendors (who cook on site) must contact Brian Simmons, Roanoke County Fire Marshal at (540) 777-8721 for a yearly inspection PRIOR to the event.

    Health Department: Food vendors please note that it is your responsibility to contact them at your convenience to assure your adherence to their regulations.

    Vendors will not be allowed to roam the field selling their products. Also, please be aware that any cardboard boxes you no longer need during the event must be taken to the dumpster and NOT placed in the trash cans. Vendors are responsible for their own trash pick up or will incur a disposal fee.

    Submittal of this form does NOT guarantee selection for participation in the Kite Festival.
