  1. CANCELED Ellis Life Guard Training (Ages 15+)

    March 20, 2020, 4:30 PM - 9:30 PM @ Green Ridge Recreation Center

    Be a part of the aquatics team! This is an intensive lifeguard training course that teaches high protection standards to enable you to prevent guests from catastrophic injury or drowning. This program gives lifeguards the skills and technical knowledge to become an effective member of an aquatics emergency response team. Upon completion of course participants are eligible for employment at the Green Ridge indoor pool and Splash Valley during the summer. Must be 16 to be considered for employment. Pre-registration is required. Prerequisite: Must be 15 years old to enroll and be able to swim 100 yds, retrieve a brick from a depth of 8 ft. and tread water for one minute. Classes will be Wed- Fri 4:30pm-9:00pm, Sat & Sun. 8:00am-2:00pm.

    Don't let working with phyllo dough deter you from creating amazing dishes! If there is one dish that will get you hooked on making Greek cuisine, it would be Spanakopita!This spinach pie uses layers of phyllo dough and feta-spinach mix to create a delicious snack or light main dish. Learn to make the famous Greek sauce tzatziki and make pork Greek-style, Souvlaki (little skewers in Greek), to dip in the sauce. Finally, you will create another famous casserole dish-Moussaka. It's a casserole made with eggplant layered with perfectly flavored meat and sauce. Chef Dominic made an appearance on the fourth season of Fox Network's Hell's Kitchen. He looks forward to the opportunity to bring his family-friendly attitude, skills and good-natured cooking to you and yours!
