  1. Intermediate Obedience & Problem Solving (Ages 18+)

    Now that your dog has learned some good manners, the next step is to apply those manners to real life situations while addressing common behavior problems like jumping on guests, door-dashing, pulling on the leash, not coming when called, etc. Behaviors taught include stay, place, leave it, heel, touch tag, and more. Dogs will be taught to respond to both verbal and non-verbal cues. Prerequisite: Graduation from our Beginner Obedience course or permission from High Hopes.

  2. Beginner Obedience & Good Manners (Ages 18+)

    Want a dog who listens better? In this basic training course, dog parents will learn how to best communicate with their dogs in order to teach them good manners. Positive reinforcement training methods are used to teach the following behaviors: touch, look, sit, down, stand, come, settle, wait, take it, loose-leash walking, plus more. Other topics include parent separation, agility exercises, impulse control, and canine communication. Dogs must complete either Puppy Kindergarten or be at least 6 months old. Six week course taught by High Hopes Dog Training.

  3. Puppy Kindergarten (Ages 18+)

    The single most important (and fun) thing you can do for your puppy? Puppy Kindergarten!! For puppies between 10-24 weeks old, socialization with other puppies and people is crucial in order to help them become social, well-balanced dogs. While making lots of friends during off-leash playtime, your puppy will gain confidence by participating in activities and learning basic commands. Discussions for puppy parents include puppy development, house-training, destructive chewing, and play-biting. Six week course taught by High Hopes Dog Training.

    A unique and protected environment, wild caves offer adventure and awe right under our feet. Emphasizing responsible caving, join us as we navigate, crawl and climb through passages and chambers to see beautiful formations and experience this underground world. No experience necessary.     Spring into budding romances with a celebrity found only in the southeastern U.S., the Marbled Salamander. Join a naturalist at Explore Park to walk between ponds and pools to catch signs of this delicate, silent, secretive animal during its mating season. See how these creatures support ecosystem health. Build a drum to get a feel for how salamanders use vibration to navigate. Red light filters will be provided. Dress for rain or shine. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.

    Your child will learn developmentally appropriate basics of ballet, tap, acrobatics, and creative movement, while learning numbers, colors, shapes, words and songs. There is an annual sign-up fee for Kinderdance® of $30 to be paid each year upon starting classes. Choose the fee with $30 added to it to pay your sign-up fee when first registering on or after September 2019. Each month following, you will no longer need to pay the sign-up fee. Instruction provided by Kinderdance® staff. All dancers will be given their class uniform and proper footwear on the first day of class.

  2. Loom Knitting Workshop (Age 18+)

    Three classes in ONE workshop! Learn how to knit in the round (hats, cowls), flat panels (scarves, blankets) and the three most common double knit stitches which can be used to create hats, cowls, scarves, and blankets! This intense but EASY workshop will provide experience casting on and binding off, the four knit stitches as well as the purl stitch. All supplies including lots of printed notes are provided.

    Taekwondo classes at Green Ridge are designed to teach martial arts and fitness in a structured but fun environment. We help kids develop a focused mind, a coordinated body, a courteous nature, and a positive attitude. Kids, teens, and adults alike will improve fitness and coordination while learning self-defense skills that help build confidence and focus. Students can sign up individually or have the whole family try together. Fee is per person. Instructors Cameron and Sarah Starnes have years of experience and are 2nd degree blackbelts. No uniform required-wear comfortable clothes. In addition to martial arts instruction, emphasized will be the five tenets of taekwondo: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control, and indomitable spirit.

  7. Ellis Life Guard Training (Ages 15+)

    March 7, 2020, 4:30 PM - 9:30 PM @ Green Ridge Recreation Center

    Be a part of the aquatics team! This is an intensive lifeguard training course that teaches high protection standards to enable you to prevent guests from catastrophic injury or drowning. This program gives lifeguards the skills and technical knowledge to become an effective member of an aquatics emergency response team. Upon completion of course participants are eligible for employment at the Green Ridge indoor pool and Splash Valley during the summer. Must be 16 to be considered for employment. Pre-registration is required. Prerequisite: Must be 15 years old to enroll and be able to swim 100 yds, retrieve a brick from a depth of 8 ft. and tread water for one minute. Classes will be Wed- Fri 4:30pm-9:00pm, Sat & Sun. 8:00am-2:00pm.

Designed to set you up for success on the 13.1 mile Ironman run, this clinic will cover injury prevention, stretching, shoe selection, training planning, and running technique.
