Roanoke County’s newest program is designed to open the world of archery to children in a safe and fun environment. The camps core content includes archery history, safety, technique, equipment, mental concentration, and self-improvement. All instructors are certified by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (VDGIF) and have undergone a certification program referred to as BAI, ‘Basic Archery Instructor.’ Please note that this program will focus on the skills of archery, not hunting.

Does your child love basketball or have aspirations to play middle school basketball? If so, we provide the perfect opportunity for them to spend a week with area varsity basketball teams honing the skills they will need to play organized basketball. Campers will be instructed on the basics of shooting, dribbling, and defending with special attention paid to proper fundamentals. This popular camp always fills up early so don’t delay with your registration!

Do you want your daughter to learn a sport they will be able to play for the rest of their life? If so, let Golf Professionals and Volunteers from the 1st Tee teach them the proper fundamentals needed to begin playing golf. The camp will focus on learning the basic club grip, swing, putting, chipping, golf etiquette, and life skills. The last day campers will have the opportunity to compete for special awards and prizes. Campers are required to bring their own age appropriate equipment to camp. A limited number of loaner clubs are available for free by contacting The First Tee of Roanoke ahead of time.

This fun and exciting camp is great for all levels of junior players who are looking to get started in tennis or develop their young games. The camp is led by a former local high school tennis coach and players who will instruct campers on the basics of the tennis stroke, court positioning and scoring system. Registration is limited to allow for adequate court time and personalized instruction for all participants. This program is perfect for improving children’s coordination, agility, and fitness.

In this exciting Bricks 4 Kidz camp, we use Lego bricks and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) principles to build amazing worlds of fun in a variety of different themes each day. Sample themes include models based on Minecraft, Superheros, Pokemon, Star Wars, Lego Movie, Toy Story and more. Your child will enjoy building Lego mosaics, 3D Lego builds and motorized Lego projects. Each camper will build a custom mini-figure to take home at the end of the week, as well as receive a Bricks 4 Kidz camp shirt.
