Little Tykes is a non-competitive sports league designed for preschool age children to help with a focus on skill development, teamwork, good sportsmanship and most importantly FUN for ages 3-5.
Each program runs for 10 weeks, meeting on Saturday mornings. The first four weeks focus on skills while the last 6 weeks include games that put those skills to work in a fun, non-competitive environment. Each practice and game is just 55 minutes.
Let's play ball! The Little Tykes program focuses on developing good players and good sportsmanship. Kids have a chance to learn the fundamentals of basketball through passing, dribbling, shooting and fun skill drills. This skill development program will run for 10 weeks, the first four weeks will be practices with the remaining 6 weeks for game play. Ea. Course # 21110, 21111 and 21112. Choose from three 1-hour time slots on Saturdays including 9am, 10am and 11am.
What does my registration fee cover and how much is it?
Registration is $75 and covers the players jersey, trophy and team picture. No additional expenses will be incurred.
Who can sign up?
Any child age 3-5 in the Roanoke Valley is eligible for this program, you do not have to be a county resident to register. You don't have to be a County resident.
How are teams formed?
When you register you select the time that is convenient for your schedule and your child is placed on that team. If time slots do not have enough players you may be grouped into another time slot that has enough players, parents will be contacted prior if this is the case.
