Capital Improvement Incentive Fund

About the Fund

Have you ever wanted to build a trail, add lights to a playing field, or simply make improvements to a county park? While Roanoke County is committed to continually improving our recreation areas, there’s just not enough time or money to do it all immediately. But with your help, projects can get off the ground right now.

Grants for Fiscal Year 2020-2021

This year via the Capital Improvement Incentive Fund (CIIF), Roanoke County is making $25,000 in matching funds available to park improvement projects that help further the mission of the department. Approved grants may receive up to 50% of the cost of a project up to $10,000. Of the match, up to half can be counted in labor or volunteer hours! Grant applications must be received by Friday March 5, by 5:00 pm in order to be considered for matching funds. Applications will be reviewed in March by the Parks, Recreation and Tourism advisory commission, and funding will be available after April 1, 2021.
