Valentine's Dance

History of the Dance

The Annual Valentine’s Dinner Dance started in 1985, and was created as a ‘second prom’ for our guests who were not included in their prom. The first Dance had about 25 people in attendance.  It has since grown to be THE event of the year, serving over 300 people with a variety of abilities and their care givers.

A King and Queen of Hearts are crowned and live music by Roanoke’s own 360 Band make the night great. Once the band starts playing, there are two breaks. These breaks are when TRS gives out Door Prizes and is a great time to use the restroom and get a drink of water.

Photos are provided by Roanoke Junior Women’s Club. They are a fantastic group of people who have been supporting this event for years. We encourage guests to only get one picture.  Standing in line take away from dancing time.
